Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.0) OS: Linux NOTE: This may be a duplicate of #230113, but because I use a different distro, I decided to open a new ticket. I have a similar problem to the one reported in #230113. I'm using KDE 4.5 and the web-slice widget simply does nothing. After adding it to the desktop I can only see the empty frame. No web-page appears. And no indication whatsoever about what went wrong. I double checked both proxy- and widget settings. All seem correct (The page loads fine in Konqueror). It would be helpful to see some kind of error message, so the user knows what went wrong. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: - Right click the desktop - Select "Add Widgets" - Search for "Web" - Drag the "Web Slice" widget onto the desktop - Observe the empty frame ;) Actual Results: The widget was added to the desktop as expected, but it only shows the empty frame. Expected Results: Seeing the specified web-page in the widget. All this was tested on the default KDE settings. No special style was selected. One thing worth noting is that I am behind a proxy. While trying this, I was assuming that the widget uses KDE's proxy settings as specified in "System Settings". As noted, I tested the proxy settings by opening the web-page in Konqueror.
