Example of messages list.

Version: 1.13.5 (using KDE 4.5.0)
OS: Linux

Subj. For example, I have many marked messages and too many items is expanded, so I forced to scroll it every time after kmail startup.

Reproducible: Always
Comment 1 Alexander 2011-05-03 12:47:52 UTC
Problem is still persists in KMail 2.0.95. Also, if group sorting direction set as ascending, kmail should be scroll messages list down automatically when I open the mail folder. Otherwise, together with behaviour, described in the previous post, I should scroll down a lot of mails every time I open the incomming folder...
Comment 2 Christophe Marin 2012-01-08 17:05:29 UTC
This is the expected behaviour.

It can be configured in the aggregation settings (kmail settings / appearance/ message list / configure button / Clone the default one / Groups & Threading)

There's a thread expand policy

Comment 3 Alexander 2012-01-09 11:03:51 UTC
I have "never expand groups" here, but kmail expands them if they contains marked as important messages.
Comment 4 Alexander 2012-01-09 13:26:49 UTC
Would be cool if KMail will only expand the last group in the list. For example: if I have my emails grouped by date it should expand only today or even better — the whole last week. I think that such behavior will be very convenient as it will also display some recent messages history.
Comment 5 Christophe Marin 2012-01-09 13:27:05 UTC
which kmail version ?
Comment 6 Alexander 2012-01-09 13:27:59 UTC
Qt: 4.8.0
KDE: 4.7.97 (4.8 RC2 (4.7.97)
KMail: 4.8 rc2
Comment 7 Christophe Marin 2012-01-09 13:30:19 UTC
I can't reproduce then. Never expand does what it says

Can you reproduce this with any folder or only one ?
Comment 8 Alexander 2012-01-09 13:38:15 UTC

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
