Description Sabine Faure 2010-09-03 17:45:34 UTC
Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS: Linux

Kmail-mobile is very slow to respond and according to top it uses up to 13% of the N900 CPU while nothing happens on it (no syncing, no dialogue launching, no display of email...) so as soon as the user tries to do something the pourcentage jumps up to 30% or more.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- Launch Kmail-mobile
- After the launch is done activate top from another computer

Actual Results:
Top displays that about 13% of the CPU is used by '/usr/bin/kmail-mobile --graphicssystem raster' whereas the user does nothing in Kmail-mobile.

Expected Results:
It would be good if the CPU pourcentage was lower and will render Kmail-mobile more responsive when the user does launch a dialogue or displays an email.

Please test again with revision >= 1171345, that contains a fix for the loading animation continuesly running even when not visible.

Fixed in revision 1171345 from what I can see on my device.

Confirmed fix for version 4:4.5~20100912.1174548-1maemo1.1173569 , closing.
Comment 4 Sabine Faure 2010-09-16 21:12:34 UTC
It is corrected indeed.

I retested this today and now Kmail-mobile only takes 1.3% of the CPU when doing nothing.

Still takes 30% when launching the composer but it goes back down as soon as the composer is displayed.
