Description Christopher Yeleighton 2010-09-01 12:25:21 UTC
Version: 1.12.4 (using KDE 4.3.5)
OS: Linux

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
Tell KMail to go offline.

2.
Tell KMail to display the local in-box.

3.
Tell KMail to display an IMAP folder.

Actual Results:
2.
KMail displays the local in-box.

3.
KMail displays the messages of the local in-box even though the IMAP folder is selected; the display is inconsistent.

Expected Results:
3. KMail should display cached messages of the IMAP folder.

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.31.12-0.2-desktop
Compiler: gcc

Unfortunately I have to comment that this still happens with akonadi-based kmail2 : have an IMAP account (In my case GMail) configured with "Enable disconnected mode" checked. Start PC without any network connectivity. Start Kmail. Try to view the Inbox folder. Watch the spinner spin, and nothing else happens. Interesting fact : if I have labels set in my account (server side), the folders they create are accessible even in offline mode, no trouble there. Only the main Inbox folder of the IMAP ressource is causing trouble.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
