Version:           1.13.5 (using KDE 4.4.5) 
OS:                Linux

The message list has a filter on top that lets me filter by:
 * Any state
 * New
 * Unread
 * Answered
 * Forwarded
 * Important
 * etc

I'd like to have a "not answered" there.

Reproducible: Always




OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32-24-generic

Thank you for your feature request. Kmail1 is currently unmaintained so we are closing all wishes. Please feel free to reopen a feature request for Kmail2 if it has not already been implemented.
