Description Jack Gurulian 2010-08-30 14:18:08 UTC
Version: 1.13.5 (using KDE 4.5.0)
OS: Linux

I set up a Gmail account on Kmail and after I retrieved my mails, they all got removed from inbox and I could only access them through the All mail folder. This action also affected the web interface of gmail and it resulted to an empty inbox! Then I removed the gmail account, used the same settings and retrieved all messages from the server and it was working until I received a new mail that was removed from my inbox at once (everything else remained the same). What is weird is that I am using arch linux on both my laptops (both 2 of them) and this error occurs only on the 64bit one.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Setup a Gmail account on Kmail, wait until you see your inbox getting empty. If not try sending an e-mail to yourself and it will be deleted as soon as you get it through Kmail. But as I mentioned before it does not happen on all computers.

Actual Results:
All the e-mails from my Gmail inbox dissapeared.

Expected Results:
Keep e-mails so that I can access them at any time.

Only occured on my 64bit laptop. On my netbook it is working.

I can confirm this too. It happens on my laptop, whenever i use Kmail on it, it deletes ALL emails received after 3.11.2010 from ALL 3 of my IMAP accounts.

Unluckily only gmail has the all emails folder that saves them. From my 2 other accounts mails are lost forever.

My desktop is running KDE 4.4.5 and kmail 1.13.5 on x86_64 gentoo and it doesn't show this behavior. Go figure. Emerge info:
emerge --info kmail | tail -n3
kde-base/kmail-4.4.7 was built with the following:
USE="debug handbook kontact (multilib) (-aqua) (-kdeenablefinal) (-kdeprefix)"

I can post complete emerge --info's later when i am at my laptop if needed.

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
