I'm not entirely sure of the distinction between Plasma and KDE in this case--it's possible that it was only Plasma that crashed. Hopefully the auto-generated report will provide more information.

I created a new panel by right-clicking on the desktop. The panel was overlapping another widget, the default folder viewer. I added the battery monitor widget to the new panel, then right-clicked to remove the panel. The menu was missing (either a black bar or nonexistant--I can't remember), but the last menu item, "Remove," was still there. I clicked it, and after a second, the screen went black. It came back in a moment with the bug report dialog.
