KMail will not receive email - no action is carried out.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Try and receive email

Actual Results:  
Nothing occurs - KMail says no email but hasn't carried out the check on the pop servers.

Expected Results:  
Email received.

Kmail is not able to send mails either.
(I'm using gmail for smtp).

For me it was two versions of openssl installed (0.9.8 and 1.0.0) and wrong linking.

Symlinking libcrypto.so.0.9.8 to libcrypto.so.1.0.0 solved the problem.

Same as Wazgird:

Symlinking libcrypto.so.0.9.8 to libcrypto.so.1.0.0 solved the problem.

So a distro problem not a kmail problem
