Version: 2.3.2 (using KDE 4.5.0) OS: Linux It takes me approx. 33.1 s to start Amarok (debug log will follow). Yes, I've got about 400 gb collection, but it shouldn't take so much as it becomes nearly unusable. Overall start procedure longs 33.1 s. 21.2 s are spent after the line number 11965, i think it's the main problem. Reproducible: Didn't try
I don't think you use Amarok 2.3.2, as it is not released. Do you mean the beta version? That would be 2.3.1.90 then. The startup time depends on many factors, especially the amount of items in a playlist, whether those are streams (Amarok would need to check every URL) and how many saved playlists you have. But I agree, the startup time is still too long, and saved playlists should not be checked on start, this was changed and the checking is back which makes this a regression.
Yes, sorry, I thought 'beta' word was missed, my fault. The real version is 2.3.1.90. I have a couple of streams and overall ~700-800 items in default playlist.
