Application: plasma-desktop (0.3) KDE Platform Version: 4.5.00 (KDE 4.5.0) Qt Version: 4.7.0 Operating System: Linux 2.6.32-24-generic i686 Distribution: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS -- Information about the crash: - What I was doing when the application crashed: - Unusual behavior I noticed: Since upgrading to KDE 4.5 occasionally (a couple of times in a day's work) a process icon appears in the task bar. It has no title, just a large yellow X. When I place the mouse over it, an icon appears that looks most like a lipstick. Right-clicking gives the same options as ordinary processes, and I can send it to another desktop for instance. However, when I close the process, plasma desktop crashes and restarts (with this crash report wizard that I am now filling in). All of my desktop widgets are still running at that point. - Custom settings of the application: None that I know of. The crash can be reproduced every time. -- Backtrace: Application: Plasma-werkgebied (plasma-desktop), signal: Aborted [Current thread is 1 (Thread 0xb7733720 (LWP 9246))] Thread 2 (Thread 0xaf8d0b70 (LWP 9305)): #0 0x00662422 in __kernel_vsyscall () #1 0x0055d015 in pthread_cond_wait@@GLIBC_2.3.2 () from /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libpthread.so.0 #2 0x009e69dd in pthread_cond_wait () from /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6 #3 0x0677b51d in ?? BTW Tweetdeck is the application that causes it. It does create a systray icon, and a Tweetdeck taskbar icon, but an X taskbar icon as well. When I close Tweetdeck, the X icon goes away too. When I close the X icon, plasma crashes, as described in the bug report. Do you think I should mention this somewhere? Thank you, Jos Geluk.
