Description JohnML 2010-08-19 22:50:41 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.5)
OS: Linux

if you try to open a saved *.torrent with ktorrent, ktorrent tries to create a Folder as /hom/john1//foo.torrent ( double path delimiter // )

that is a showstopper for ktorrent, User can't correct that manual.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
try to open a *.torrent file

Actual Results:
ktorrent isn't usable anymore

Expected Results:
open and download the *.torrent

OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.34-0.slh.11-sidux-686
Compiler: cc

Comment 2 JohnML 2010-08-19 22:59:31 UTC
version of ktorrent is 4.0.2

p.s. the second path delimiter is added after user klicks the open button !!

Last time I tried opening torrents was not a problem, so what exactly is going on ? Where is this double path delimiter added ?

torrent with underscore in filename

open it with ktorrent and see what happens to the underscores in fileopendialog

"/sabayon/iso/Sabayon_Linux_5.3_amd64_K"
Comment 5 JohnML 2010-08-20 11:11:23 UTC
funny, not all underscores a replaced with slash, but why??
Comment 6 JohnML 2010-08-20 11:38:14 UTC
no, it's not a problem with the filename:
rename the file(!!) to test.torrent and you have the same problem.

I think it's not a problem of ktorrent but of the name that comes out of the torrent.

p.s. I know just nothing about torrents, so i might be wrong :-((

i downloaded the torrent from http://tracker.sabayon.org/

Perhaps a gentoo-ist does not kow how to treat torrents? :-;
