Version: 4.4 (using KDE 4.4.5) OS: FreeBSD When Dolphin in kde4 launches kuickshow it only shows black window when I am trying to see the photo. Same when I call it manually. kuickshow-0.9.1.4.4.0_1 8.1-STABLE amd64 Reproducible: Always
FreeBSD probably ships an unpatched version of Imlib1. See this discussion https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/imlib/+bug/70367 The patch to apply is this one: http://launchpadlibrarian.net/4966410/imlib-max-24bpp.diff
FreeBSD ports don't have this patch. But I tried to add it in my local system, it didn't fix the original problem.
I am sorry, but now I see that the bug is gone. When I just updated the imlib it must have not been reloaded. Now after a while kquickshow works fine on FreeBSD. Thank you!
Did you report a bug to FreeBSD about the Imlib package?

Might be that the package is wrong though (KuickShow uses Imlib1, not Imlib2, which is a completely different thing, despite the naming). Cheers, Carsten
People applying this patch should notice that it only applies to Imlib1 but fails on Imlib2. They will also read this conversation as I mentioned it in the PR there.
This issue first disappeared, and later came back. I see this issue on kde-4.7.3 after many updates. FreeBSD-8.2 (from ports)
Thanks for your bug report or feature request. The Kuickshow application is no longer maintained, and all open tickets are now closed. See also http://websvn.kde.org/?view=revision&revision=1383834
