Version: 2.0.85 (using KDE 4.4.2) OS: Linux It takes much longer to save a file if the structure panel is open. When I save with it open, each item in the structure list refreshes, and it takes 5-10 seconds to save. With it closed, or with a different window open in the left hand panel it takes 1-2 seconds to save Reproducible: Always OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.32-22-generic Compiler: cc
Which version of Qt are you using?
4.6.2
Can you try to update to Qt 4.6.3 and also to the latest SVN version of Kile to see if that helps? You can find instructions for doing so here: http://kile.sourceforge.net/developers.php#repository Thanks.
I can confirm the same problem with Kile 2.0.85 and libqt4-4.6.3-2.1.1.x86_64 (KDE 4.4.4). When saving a document, Kile freezes for about a second while the progress bar in the status line is shown. Interestingly, in my version this doesn't depend on whether the structure panel is open or not. Admittedly, this happens with a rather large source file (233KB), yet I would still expect the table of contents to be refreshed in a separate thread with very low priority. Is there a specific reason why you believe a newer version of Kile would help?
