Version: 4.5 (using KDE 4.5.0) OS: Linux Since I upgraded my Kubuntu 10.4 to KDE SC 4.5 (with some trouble, see https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/+bug/615902), KDE is noticeably slower. It's workable but not a step forward, rather a step backwards. Just not as 'snappy'. Note: it 'feels' like it has to with the graphics rendering. I should note that I patched xorg.conf so that KDE 4.4 with desktop effects ran smoothly. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/568988. Perhaps this causes the slowing down now? Perhaps related to bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=245806 but in my case it's not seconds but tenths of seconds. Reproducible: Didn't try
Do you have "Blur" enabled in Desktop Effects?
