I have saved 1 wireless connection. When I'm at another place where there is an insecure wifi and I select it from "WLAN Interface\nCreate network connection...", a dialog for the saved wifi connection is shown to me.

Ah, sorry.. I forgot my platform details. I use openSUSE 11.3 with KDE 4.5.0.
