Version: 4.2.2 OS: Linux I went to window behavior -> system settings -> titlebar actions and selected "maximize virtical" but this action continues to use the "maximize" setting. I am running with kdm (I think) so that may be interfering with my requested actions. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: See above description Actual Results: See above description Expected Results: See above description
This works here. Are you sure you are running KWin and not Compiz or a different window manager? To check, you can use "ps x | grep kwin" in a Konsole window to see the process ID.
Christopf, Thanks for your response. Here's what I'm getting. I have to leave for home now but will respond to you then. Regards, George... ps x | grep kwin 4270 ? Rl 1:19 kwin 6115 pts/2 R+ 0:00 grep --color=auto kwin
a) Are you really still using 4.2.2? b) Which decoration do you use? c) whaat do you mean by "kdm"? The KdeDisplayManager (login thing) should not interfere with this :-) d) (just to be sure, sorry) Did you press "apply" or "ok" after selecting the other maximize mode? e) Do other titlebar actions (eg. shade) work?
Thomas AND Christopf, Thanks for your responses and good questions. The problem seems to have gone away. As far as I can see, everything is working properly now. I was running kde here at work (default is login via kdm apparently). I have removed this pkg from my desktop and am now able to run kde as I'm used to doing. These systems are ubuntu 10.04 which apparently has decided(?) to use 4.2.2 of kde. I use much newer versions at home but here at work, I wanted to NOT make waves (new job). Yes, I did hit the apply button. :-) NO I'm not insulted by your question, it's a good one. As far as I'm concerned, this case can be closed. If I experience the problem again, I'll open a new case. Regards, and again, thanks for your help, George...
seems to work...
