Description Ian Dunmill 2010-08-17 11:50:44 UTC
Version: 1.13.5 (using KDE 4.5.0)
OS: Linux

When deleting a message all messages in the list disappear except those that will fill the message list pane, whatever size this is. Undo restores the messages to the list, leaving the pane displaying the first messages in the list. This seems to happen most of the time, but maybe not 100 %!

If I mark the message as read and then delete it immediately, there is no problem. If I mark it as read, then do something else and then go back and delete it, the bug usually happens. If I delete an unread message, the bug usually happens.

It doesn't seem to matter whether I use Del, Shift-Del, Right-click -> Move-to -> Wastebin, or drag and drop.

This is only since I updated to KDE 4.5 (I never used the RCs). I am also suffering from Bug #243515 (also not 100%) since the KDE update. It seems rather related since it always goes to the beginning of the message list.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Delete a message.

Also try marking as unread and immediately deleting to not reproduce the problem

Actual Results:
As in details above

Expected Results:
List of messages should remain untouched, with cursor in the same place.

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32-24-generic
Compiler: cc

Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report.

KMail2 was released in 2011, and the entire code base went through significant changes. We are currently in the process of porting to Qt5 and KF5. It is unlikely that these bugs are still valid in KMail2.

We welcome you to try out KMail 2 with the KDE 4.14 release and give your feedback.
