Created attachment 50642 [details] screenshot of my desktop icon arrangement Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.0) OS: Linux If I right-click a file in folder view (showing my Desktop folder) and select "Cut", the icons in the folder view get rearranged alphabetically. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: This may have to do with the specific icons I have on my desktop and the order in which they exist, but here's what works for me: 1) I have several icons in my Desktop folder, which is displayed by the folder view widget on my desktop. 2) I have a specific, non-alphebetical arrangement of these icons. 3) Right-click on one of the files and select "Cut". The icons rearrange alphabetically. Actual Results: My icons rearrange when I try to "cut" a file. Expected Results: I expect my icons to stay in their assigned arrangement. ** My System ** Motherboard: MSI K9N SLI Platinum (nForce 570 SLI chipset) CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 4000+ (2.6 GHz) RAM: 2GB DDR2 Video: Dell NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX w/ 256 MB RAM (PCI Express) OS: Kubuntu 10.04 i386 w/ KDE SC 4.5.0 from Kubuntu PPA Linux Kernel: 2.6.32-24-lowlatency NVIDIA driver: 256.44 Screen Resolution: 1280 x 960 X.org: 7.5 Qt: 4.7.0
Yes, when you cut or move file from folder to folder, or when you create new file icons are rearranged. Old and boring bug.
[Comment from a bug triager] I can't reproduce this bug with KDE SC 4.6 beta2 (not in KDE SC 4.5.4 either) - If you can still reproduce this with KDE SC 4.5.4 or 4.6 betas, can you tell me what are your FolderView sorting/alignment/blocking settings to test them ? Thanks
Indeed, the bug is no longer there in 4.5.4. Closing this bug.
