Christophe: Thanks for the response. I am now on openSUSE 11.4 (2.6.37.1-1.2-desktop), KDE 4.6.2 Release 3 KMail (1.13.7). I have posted a screen shot of what is doing today: http://www.imagebam.com/image/ded22a130377215 This was a fresh install of the whole system.
Created attachment 59504 [details] save distribution list w/ kmail2 Forgot to mention: it is fixed in KMail2 (which will be part of kdepim 4.6)
And now I see why I can't reproduce, there's another condition for seeing the bug: the contacts must already be in the address book. So, steps are the following: - In KAdressBook, create two different contacts but with the same email address - In KMail composer, add the two contacts, press the save list button - In the save dialog, both entries have the same name. Reassign to kmail2.

Thanks for your quick response. openSUSE is not delivering kmail2 yet except as factory. This is a production system. The contacts are in the Contacts --> Personal Address book. See new screen shot i just posted. http://www.imagebam.com/image/ab6c0b130392106 The orignal screeshot was where I selected them from the akonadi resourses list in Kmail the did save list. i will see if I can find a version of kmail2 and install it after I setup a new test enviroment. i assume tokoe@kde.org is the kmail2 person and will get a copy of this.
just to make it clear: the issue exists in kmail2.
could you reverify please ? I can't reproduce
This appears fixed in KDE 4.8.3 and Kmail 4.8.3.
comment 8 told that it's fixed. Reopen if not
