Description Russ Fineman 2010-08-14 20:17:26 UTC
Version: 1.13.5 (using KDE 4.5.0)
OS: Linux

Creating list under Kmail--> message-->new message. If two of the recipients have the same email address it show s the name of the first one for both.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
Select new message, add recipients to To: entries:
To: Nayda Littlefield <littlegb@bossig.com>
To: PDG Greg Littlefield <littlegb@bossig.com>

click save list:
 Nayda Littlefield littlegb@bossig.com
 Nayda Littlefield littlegb@bossig.com

Both are checked. If you name list and save it above 2 lines are what it saves.

Actual Results:
 Nayda Littlefield littlegb@bossig.com
 Nayda Littlefield littlegb@bossig.com

Expected Results:
New List with:
To: Nayda Littlefield <littlegb@bossig.com>
To: PDG Greg Littlefield <littlegb@bossig.com>

I have two other recipients that have different email addresses but same last name and they save correctly.

openSUSE 11.3 2.6.34-12-default
Platform Version 4.5.00 (KDE 4.5.0)
Kmail 1.13.5
kaddressbook-4.4.5-236.4.x86_64 (Latest available for openSUSE 11.3)

Cannot reproduce with your steps.

After adding the two to: addresses and saving the list, both name appear in kaddressbook and in the newly created group.

Christophe: Thanks for the response. I am now on openSUSE 11.4 (2.6.37.1-1.2-desktop), KDE 4.6.2 Release 3 KMail (1.13.7). I have posted a screen shot of what is doing today:

This was a fresh install of the whole system.

save distribution list w/ kmail2

Forgot to mention: it is fixed in KMail2 (which will be part of kdepim 4.6)

And now I see why I can't reproduce, there's another condition for seeing the bug: the contacts must already be in the address book.

So, steps are the following:

- In KAdressBook, create two different contacts but with the same email address
- In KMail composer, add the two contacts, press the save list button
- In the save dialog, both entries have the same name.

Reassign to kmail2.

Thanks for your quick response.

openSUSE is not delivering kmail2 yet except as factory. This is a production system. The contacts are in the Contacts --> Personal Address book. See new screen shot i just posted.

The orignal screeshot was where I selected them from the akonadi resourses list in Kmail the did save list.

i will see if I can find a version of kmail2 and install it after I setup a new test enviroment.

i assume tokoe@kde.org is the kmail2 person and will get a copy of this.

just to make it clear: the issue exists in kmail2.
Comment 7 Laurent Montel 2012-05-25 07:36:33 UTC
could you reverify please ?
I can't reproduce
Comment 8 Russ Fineman 2012-05-26 14:56:28 UTC
This appears fixed in KDE 4.8.3 and Kmail 4.8.3.
Comment 9 Laurent Montel 2012-07-08 12:39:45 UTC
comment 8 told that it's fixed.
