Version: 0.4 (using KDE 4.4.2) OS: Linux This prompt can be really annoying when you do not share your pc/laptop and when you press turn off or reboot you REALLY want system to do it, no matter what program or console session is still opened. I skip the examples because it's too obvious to explain. Actual Results: The unwanted prompt appears. Expected Results: Continue the reboot/shutdown. Simple option in system settings solves this issue.
+ 1 on this . The default should be displaying a warning. But there should be an option to disable it.
This issue makes using KDE as the default desktop environment on Debian Live[1] a real hassle. Per default, the user is automatically logged in to tty[1-6]. Everytime the system is rebooted or shut down kdm displays this unnecessary warning. I would be glad if there is any way to disable this warning. [1] http://live.debian.net

yep, a kdmrc option to TERMINATE_ALL_ACTIVE_SESSIONS_ON_SHUTDOWN would be lovely. IMO, kdm should be seen as 'the overriding gateway to the machine', if you've logged in to a (non-remote) graphical environment then i think that should be seen as, 'this is where control should now be focused'. i do use ssh, vnc and indeed other tty sessions to do tasks, so i do see that the decision to 'just kill other sessions' shouldn't be taken lightly, but i've only ever been p@ssed off at the logic to 'not follow my latest order and shutdown the darn box' ..seeing next morning that the machine is still on, having wasted another night of electricity. (not my use-case but) if multiple DIFFERENT usernames are seen with active sessions, be it tty, ssh, vnc etc, then i'd expect the question to be asked "other users are using the box, really kill it?" ..but if i've got a dozen different logins going on for a dozen different tasks, i simply want my last order followed exactly. it could even be a different button 'unconditional shutdown'! [i use init 0 btw yes, but that doesn't play nicely with saving sessions]
+1 on this. I forgot my ssh/screen session so when shutting down I just left the computer directly after clicking "shutdown". The next morning I found that my computer was still running and displaying this prompt.
