Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.4) OS: Linux These are mockups to show how it could potentially look if an "Icon View" option was added to Kickoff. This would not get rid of the current list view, but provide an alternative icon view if selected in the Application Launcher Settings. The first mockup shows the "Favorites" tab. In this mockup you can see 16 applications without scrolling, as compared to the current list view that shows only 8 in the same amount of space. http://lh5.ggpht.com/_6yUws0fIttA/TGJfxKoKDOI/AAAAAAAABVI/01TQxCIw3T8/s800/Kickoff%20Mockup1.png The second mockup shows the Main Applications tab. I separated the categories from the 3 desktop tool applications in order to keep it structured. http://lh4.ggpht.com/_6yUws0fIttA/TGJfxD6xncI/AAAAAAAABVM/25ob-Xuk4UA/s800/Kickoff%20Mockup2.png The third mockup just shows an added "Icon View" option in the Application Launcher Settings. http://lh3.ggpht.com/_6yUws0fIttA/TGJfxIOoMGI/AAAAAAAABVQ/veFp-nUFkB8/s800/Kickoff%20Mockup3.png Reproducible: Didn't try

Images no longer working, but got the idea. A grid mockup was also added to bug 326492.

Hello! This feature request was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this feature request is already implemented in Plasma 5, or is no longer applicable. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this feature request. If the requested feature is still desired but not implemented in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding! Nate Graham
