Created attachment 50000 [details] Showing kmail-mobile tag 20100805-1 on n900, screenshot Version: unspecified (using Devel) OS: other Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: Start kmail-mobile and select a folder with some (about 10) emails in it. Actual Results: Reading is obstructed. (A calender is shown in the background.) Expected Results: The background image should be less interuption with the main task of the user, which is reading emails as fast and comfortably as possible. Possibly the image should be moved to a different place where reading speed is not as important. (Some more suitable to emails should be shown.) Architecture: armel Source: kdepim Version: 4:4.5~20100805.1159887-1maemo26.1161004
All mobile apps have their own background images now, the calendar one was only used temporarily.
Background image and reading abilities got worse with 20100813 packages. Affecting readability in the folder list and the email list now.

As you can see from the screenshots, the problem got worse, thus I am raising priority. It really degrades the user experience compared to having no background, so it should be easy to fix.
Still need to test it on my phone, Wen i created this it was on propose a bit to strong, I also created a washed out version of it, my may problem with it was that I needed somthing that brakes the bleeched look of the app. Specialy in the R-W sections... for sections with lots of free text it obvisuly dosent work.
Are the screenshots helpful? I can do more screenshots, if you like. Using the n900 tag packages should be straight forward right now.
I kinda test this by sending my mockups to the device. example http://i.imgur.com/TxZdo.png (test on the device) there is a huge difrence betwing how it looks on a conventional 24bit color 90 dpi screen and in the n900 screen+ plus there are diferences betwin the mockups and the implementation... to those what i realy need is to test the softwere and were neded replace the images the bg image for non more text intensive views http://i.imgur.com/Vip7a.png
I can confirm that the pointed background is still there unfortunately. I get the same result as Bernhard E. Reiter (see screenshot attached). This is really not confortable to read or use the n900. N900 Packages, Svn Rev 1164728

SVN commit 1165944 by vkrause: new background images, by Nuno BUG: 247349 M calendar/korganizer-mobile-background.png M contacts/kaddressbook-mobile-background.png M mail/kmail-mobile-background.png M notes/notes-mobile-background.png M tasks/tasks-mobile-background.png WebSVN link: http://websvn.kde.org/?view=rev&revision=1165944
Much improved in 4:4.5~20100820.1165966-1maemo1.1167016 . It is probably impossible to find a solution that is rated "perfect" from all voice-owners heard above. But I would be surprised if anyone would rate the reading obstruction as being "strong" with the newest background images, thus closing this issues.
It is indeed corrected now. The new background image is not preventing the window viewing anymore. N900, 4:4.5~20100824.1167481-1maemo1.1167070
