Version: unspecified (using Devel) OS: unspecified Situation: Dolphin shows a folder using a symbol for a typical paper office-folder. If this folder contains one or more pictures Dolphin shows up to 4 miniature pictures of these ontop of the folder symbol. That's nice, but if the folder is a cd audio album it should only present the folder.jpg picture album cover and nothing else. Proposal: Any folder should either be of 'default type' or of a defined intelligently adapted type, depending on the folder content. If a folder contains mp3 files and pictures it is probably an audio cd folder and the folder icon should automatically show the picture 'folder.jpg' within the image of a cd jewel case. If a folder contains pictures the folder typ would be picture album. If the folder countains pdf files it might be a documents folder or a bookshelf. In a videos folder, there any file should have an icon according to the cover of the video dvd, e.g. for the icon of a movie called terminator.avi a picture file called terminator.png should be used within a picture like a dvd case. Perhaps every folder type could be represented by a typical icon with content-oriented previews of the containing files. Resetting assignee to default as per bug #305719
The proposed use case works as intended now in Dolphin 17.12: folders that contain a single image and a bunch of audio or video files now shows only the image on the folder.
