It would be nice, if there was an option in the menu editor (right click on the application launcher -> Menu Editor) to deactivate the desktop effects before several applications are started. This could be used for applications like Marble, Google Earth, games (Glest, and so on) etc. You wouldn't have to deactivate the effects at your own.
