Description denysonique 2010-08-07 23:09:26 UTC
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #247013 +++

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.4)
OS: Linux

I have gnome and kde installed. KDE application launcher does not show some gnome applications. One of the applications is Gnome Disk Usage Analyzer(Baobab).

This bug affects also the suggestions of the F2 application launcher. Instead only KDiskFree is suggested after I type 'disk usage'.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Install Gnome disk usage analyzer Baobab. Search for gnome disk usage analyzer.

Actual Results:
Nothing found.

Expected Results:
Disk usage analyzer launcher.

Does "Boabab" install a *.desktop file, and if yes, to which location? Make sure KDE can parse this location.

There is clearly defined NotShowIn=KDE;.
Is there an option to show 'NotShowIn=KDE' or 'OnlyShowIn=GNOME' applications in KDE?

"Is there an option to show 'NotShowIn=KDE' or 'OnlyShowIn=GNOME' applications
in KDE?"

no, as that is the entire point of NotShowIn .. to not show in.

editing the .desktop file and removing that is the only way. i will make this report into a feature request for kmenuedit to provide this functionality. it can already show these hidden entries (it's an item in the configuration dialog), but it doesn't let one remove the NotShowIn entries.

I take this feature.
