Press on send. Actual Results: A yellow dialog appears telling that the mail is sent. But the mail is not added to the sent-mails folder. The mail doesn't arrive at the test address. Expected Results: The mail is added to the sent-mails folder and is really sent.
I tested this today as well and got the same result. Version: 4.5~20100813.1163254-1maemo1.1164259 (enterprise5) After pressing send in the composer, two messages appeared: One said that sending one mail was successful. One said that sending one mail, failed because of an error. The mail was not sent.
I retested this today and it is corrected on Linux. The email is properly sent, added to the sent mail folder and received now. N900 Packages, Svn Rev 1164728 Ludwig, please verify this bug once it works for you too.
Still fails sometimes (at least for me post of the time) on 20100813-2.
Akonadi and the attributes show me that at least most of my messages failed because of authentification errors. Failed to transport message. Your SMTP server does not support PLAIN. Choose a different authentication method. The server responded: "5.7.0 Error: authentication failed: authentication failure" As IMAP sync works, I did provide the right password. Maybe no SSL connection is attempted. I am also missing a "resent" button to try again and a reliable way to show the error status.
Okay, I think I've found at least part of the issue why I am seeing it: I've misstyped in my email address and later corrected it in the "configure account" dialog. This was enough for imap, but not for other places (identity, emaildefaults, mailtransports).
I retested this today and it does not work anymore: The email seems to be sent since a yellow dialog appears telling that the mail is sent and a copy is stored in the 'Sent-mail folder'. However it is never received by the recipient. I am wondering if this is linked to the Imap not synchronizing bug. While there are stills similar symptoms observable, afaics these all have own issues and more appropriate titles by now. Closing this bug.

The reason should be: Executable "akonadi_maildispatcher_agent" for agent akonadi_maildispatcher_agent" could not be found! It might be some agentserver regression.
That same version was known to have issues with account registration. Which kind of accounts were registered? Also, I opt for opening a new issue, this bugtrackers "collapse comment" feature is imho not enough to make any sense of this report in sensible time (I just counted - 14 lines of readible comments on one screen!).

tested with Kontact enterprise5 N900 20101108.1194089-1maemo1 I tried to send a mail to different account. Kontact shows me a successfully sent msg. But the mail was never received by the second test account. So still broken. (The mails were saved in the outbox and not copied to the sent-mail folder)

The composer getting stuck part has been fixed in Akonadi server and the Maemo packages (missing Strigi dependency).

Reopened, because it failed again. version: 20101129.1201917-1maemo1 After pressing of the send mail button the mail isn't sent and stays in the outbox, but Kontact told me that it has sent the mail. (failure)

Also happens with Windows CE (2010-11-28) Mails are not sent and stays in the outbox.
Sending an replying works with 4:4.6~20101130.1202227-1maemo1.1202030 on maemo. maybe it's some strange issue. ludwig and me are using the same test account but a different n900 device.
When this happens, can you check the state of the maildir resource? Is it online?
The wrong notifications have been fixed in revision 1202850.
This issue is happening from time to time due to different reasons. We should create new issues in future not reopening this one.
