Works for me, which versions of poppler and poppler-data do you have installed?
I'm using 0.12.4-0ubuntu5 which comes with Ubuntu 10.04 and I don't have poppler-data installed I was thinking about installing 10.10 in current state to test and see that this has poppler 0.14.1 so I will set this to needsinfo and change status once I have installed that.

That has fixed it. I'll look at raising it as a packaging bug against Ubuntu to make sure they include it.
