Hej Mathias,

KAddressBook in KDE 4.4 makes use of the new PIM storage layer Akonadi. It seems that the migration didn't work for you and therefor the contacts are not shown. But don't panic, they are still available :)
Please run the 'kaddressbookmigrator' application from a Konsole window and then you should have a 'Personal Contacts' address book showing up in KAddressBook that contains all your contacts you have stored in ~/.kde/share/apps/kabc/std.vcf before. If you had other address book configured, you must readd them manually unfortunately. Just right click on the left pane in KAddressBook, choose 'Add Address Book...' from the popup menu and select the address book you want to add.

If you face other problems, feel free to visit the troubleshooting page linked from http://userbase.kde.org/KAddressBook

Ciao,
Tobias
