Version:           1.6.6 (using KDE 1.2) 
OS:                Linux

i`ve 1 year ex- in ubuntu gnome and now new user for bt4 i`ve that massage

Steps to Reproduce:
apt-get update in shell good
apt-get upgrade && apt-get dist-upgrade   are E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

apt-get or backtrack4 are not part of the KDE Software Compilation. Please file the bug to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/
