Version: unspecified (using Devel) OS: Linux I had some troubles with the language setting for Konversation. (But it is the same in many other applications.) I tried to switch the language manually via the Switch Application Language menu item. I've selected Chinese by mistake and restarted the application. Now I really don't know how to correct my mistake to switch to any of the languages that I can read, because I can't read Chinese and all those language names are in Chinese ... What would be better is to leave all those language names untranslated in this list, I guess virtually everyone knows the English name of own language to be able to select it. What would be best is to show the native name for each language. Reproducible: Always
It should even be possible to translate each entry to its own language. I think the all_languages file provides those translations, without the need to install any translation files.
Putting things untranslated is not an option, Christoph's suggestion would be ok for me, but don't expect me to put much work into it.
(In reply to comment #1) > It should even be possible to translate each entry to its own language. that's what I have meant by "native name" (In reply to comment #2) > Putting things untranslated is not an option, IMHO still better option than using translation which the user cannot even read ... > Christoph's suggestion would be > ok for me, but don't expect me to put much work into it. I'm not a developer, I don't know what it takes to read entries from the all_languages file, however I'd expect this problem to be fixed, some day, eventually :-)
Is bug 240308 related to this one?
