Description Davor Cubranic 2010-07-21 23:47:03 UTC
Version: 0.10.2 (using KDE 4.4.2)
OS: Linux

When scrolling through even a moderately large PDF file in Konqueror, the embedded Okular frequently gets out of sync. The scrollbar and the page counter might change, but the page is not redrawn for several (approaching ten) seconds. This does not seem to happen when the same file is viewed by the standalone viewer. (E.g., http://dirk.eddelbuettel.com/papers/wuMay2010-presentation.pdf)

In the normal operation, when I scroll too fast for the rendering to keep up, it still advances the page display, but replaces contents with the application icon until they are available. With this bug, nothing happens in the display area, and Okular appears completely unresponsive.

This is a new behaviour since Okular with KUbuntu Lucid. I did not run into this problem with Karmic or earlier.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Still there with Okular 0.11.1 (KDE 4.5.1) on KUbuntu 10.10 Maverick

The bug now also manifests itself when running Okular standalone, in addition to embedded (in rekonq, which is now the default browser in KUbuntu). Usually zooming out helps to get the display back into sync with the scrolling.

Can you still reproduce this in newer KDE/Okular versions?

Thanks for caring about Okular :-)

No answer in a while. Closing as invalid. Please reopen if it's still valid.
