Description Robin Appelman 2010-07-20 22:15:22 UTC
Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS: Linux

On my laptop I have all applications forced to fully maximize using kwin's window rules, however when I drag the window (using oxygen's new feature) it ignores that rule and moves the window.

It seems logically to me that moving a window that is forced full screen should be movable.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Create window rules to force maximized windows and try to move them
Comment 1 Hugo Pereira Da Costa 2010-07-20 22:31:23 UTC
Reassigning to Oxygen (since it -me- is responsible for the dragging feature).
However, I can't reproduce here.

Couple of questions:
- if you open 'oxygen-settings' (in terminal or krunner) what's the status of the "Use window manager to perform window's drag" checkbox. It should be checked, otherwise all kwin hints/rules are bypassed.

- you use compositing ?

Thanks in advance

Hugo

It doesn't only occur when dragging windows using oxygen's new feature, also when using the window decorations to drag it happens.

-oxygen is set to use the wm

-I do use compositing

Also, using kde 4.4.92 from kubuntu packages

oh.
And what if you change decoration ?
(if it still happens then I'll re-reassign to kwin :))
Comment 4 Robin Appelman 2010-07-20 23:17:03 UTC
Just tried it with several window decorations, they all give the same problem
Comment 5 Hugo Pereira Da Costa 2010-07-20 23:24:20 UTC
ok. Me off the hook. Re-reassigning.
Comment 6 Thomas Lübking 2010-07-20 23:25:52 UTC
can you please lookup your settings for "allow moving and resizing..." in the
"moving" page and "maximize windows by dragging them..." in the "screen edges"
page?
Comment 7 Martin Flöser 2010-08-28 15:24:39 UTC
waiting for answer. I assume that deactivating the option in "screen edges" will solve this issue.
