Version: unspecified (using Devel) OS: Linux After the Kubuntu 10.04 OS Splash Screen, KDE does not start and I see a terminal screen come up asking for my username + password. I tried 'sudo plasma-desktop' but it came up with 'symbol lookup error: usr/bin/libQtGui.so.4: undefined symbol: ZNZ4QAbstractDeclarativeData9destroyedE' Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Turn on computer? Actual Results: Terminal screen comes up Expected Results: KDM should load Kubuntu 10.04 x86_64
Please try: "kdm start" (as real root) instead of "sudo plasma-desktop". If it does not work please post /var/log/Xorg.0.log. May it is a problem in Xorg ...
A missing symbol always indicates a problem with your package versions. Please make sure you are installing KDE and Qt from the same repositories. Additionally, if you are using self-compiled Qt packages, make sure all KDE components are compiled against these. A common error is keeping distribution packages installed while also installing self-compiled versions.

Sorry, I should have said this before bu this was after installing updating after adding the Kubuntu Beta Backports PPA ( iwanted to check out KDE 4.5). Is there any way I can restore it?

This seems to have been fixed in the new update from the PPA
