Description David Hubner 2010-07-13 23:56:30 UTC
Version:           CVS (using Devel)
OS:                Linux

Klauncher seems to have problems communicating with kdeinit.. when klauncher launches an application the dvdrom checks the CD. After launching many applications.. plasma freezes.

.Xsession-errors

Reproducible: Always
Comment 1 David Hubner 2010-07-14 00:00:13 UTC
.xsession-errors

klauncher(4196)/kio (KLauncher): SlavePool: No communication with slave.

happens whenever a application starts.

kwin(4241)/kdeui (KNotification) KNotification::slotReceivedIdError: Error while contacting notify daemon "Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken."

happens when many applications have been opened
Comment 2 David Hubner 2010-07-14 00:07:27 UTC
Additional information, happens in KDE 4.5RC2. Does not happen in 4.4.5
Comment 3 David Hubner 2010-07-14 01:34:10 UTC
I also get a lot of

QStringList Solid::Backends::KUPnP::KUPnPManager::findDeviceByDeviceInterface(Solid::DeviceInterface::Type)  error:  "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown"

after klauncher(4196)/kio (KLauncher): SlavePool: No communication with slave.

This was a hardware fault.. seems that I have a dodgy sata cable. Took me a while to find the bug but when you do a simple ls command in console and your cdrom spins up.. you know its not KDE :)

Sorry for the noise.
