Created attachment 49119 [details] This is a Python test from the autor of plasmoid to test the bug. Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.3.5) OS: Linux When I add the Google Translator plasmoid the widget is starting there with a information: "Waiting for Network connection" and on the widget are dot's in a circle that are move around waiting the connection. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Add plasmoid to Desktop with the tool of Plasma. Right click, Add graphic element (plasmoid). Then clik on Google Translator and Add. Actual Results: I see the Google Translator plasmoid searching Network until the end of the days. Expected Results: Connect to Network for use. This happens with KDE 4.3.5 and KDE 4.4.5 (all versions I guess). This happens in two more diferent computers. Mine and other from another user. In http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Google+Translator?action=content&content=113890 is posible to see at the thread Script initialization failed. In this thread, the plasmoid's author, makes us see the ruling by a python program (I have attached this). Finally, but forgive if data are missing or anything else. It is the first bug report I do.
I'm the author of the above mentioned Plasma Widget and I don't have the problem. Thats why I asked one of the users to file a report. The problem is that: (Solid.Networking.status() == Solid.Networking.Connected) returns False even though they have a network connection.
Dear Bug Submitter, This bug has been stagnant for a long time. Could you help us out and re-test if the bug is valid in the latest version? I am setting the status to NEEDSINFO pending your response, please change the Status back to REPORTED when you respond. Thank you for helping us make KDE software even better for everyone!
Seems that this plasmoid not exists in KDE Plasma (I have version 5.14.3). Nothing to do for help. Sorry. By the other side, the bug report is from 2010.
Thanks for the update!
