Description Johannes Goller 2010-07-13 10:27:42 UTC
Version: 2.4.3 (using KDE 4.4.4)
OS: Linux

Here is what I did:
1) Configured a global keyboard shortcut in KDE: Ctrl+Alt+T to open a new konsole
(The configuration was done by opening the KDE application launcher [right click, then select "Menu Editor"], and then defining a global shortcut in the Properties section of the Konsole item)

2) Opened a konsole by selecting konsole from the application launcher
3) Types a few commands "ls", "ps" etc. into the konsole
4) Pressed Ctrl+Alt+T to open another konsole

After step 4) a new konsole is started as expected, but I cannot type into it. I can still use Alt+Tab to switch to other windows, but whenever I return to the konsole, I cannot type anything into it.

When I switch to the original konsole, sometimes the input I tried to type into the new konsole appears there, and after that I can switch to the new konsole and then typing works.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

I repeated your procedure, but failed to reproduce it with KDE-4.7.0

Have you re-checked this problem with recent version?
Comment 2 Johannes Goller 2011-07-31 01:43:27 UTC
True. I don't get this problem in 4.6.5 either. As far as I am concerned the bug can be closed.
