Description Danilo 2010-07-11 12:27:36 UTC
The bug is still there in kde 4.5 RC2 kubuntu packages, but the status of bug 241509 is "fixed".

+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #241509 +++

Application: plasma-desktop (0.3)
KDE Platform Version: 4.4.85 (KDE 4.4.85 (KDE 4.5 Beta2))
Qt Version: 4.7.0
Operating System: Linux 2.6.32-22-generic i686
Distribution: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Plasma starts. Everything ok, but a small empty window appears. It is resizeable, but it has no content, meaning it holds the graphic of what it is above it and does not update. If I close it (alt+F4, taskbar or "X") plasma crashes. When it reloads, the blank window reappears. I have checked if I have any strange plasmoid running but not showing, but I do not have any.

This is the "xprop" output

The window can be moved to another desktop, so it's only marginally annoying, but a fix would be apreciated.
I have Kubuntu 10.04 with KDE backports ppa enabled and my plasma version i 4.4.85. Everything started after an update where also plasma was involved!

Thanks!!!

The crash can be reproduced every time.
