Description Matze 2010-07-08 16:07:36 UTC
Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS: Linux

There are two configs for shadows. You can find the first one under the options of the Oxygen windows-decoration and another one under "workspace-effects". I know now, that these two options make two different thinks, but it isn't very userfriendly. So please simplify this.

Reproducible: Didn't try

There is an option in Oxygen to use the Effects shadows. And once menus, popups, and tool tips can render their own shadows, the Effects shadows will be banned. Ah, and Plasma themes also have their own shadows built into the theme graphics. So much for consistency.

I don't know if it is ever planned to re-introduced unified Shadow settings in KWin, or if each decoration/style needs its own settings. Please resolve as desired.

I don't think KWin can do anything about it, now that control is out of our hands. Therefore I reassign to Oxygen - the most closest thing to a unified shadow config.

no more shadow config in kwin
shadows are entirely left to widget style now.
so fixed.
