Version: 4.5 pre (using KDE 4.4.4) OS: Linux Prior to kde 4.5 beta2 one could bring up korganizer by some intuitive click on the reminder daemon in the system tray (don't remember excactly how this worked). Since 4.5 beta2 this feature has gone. Is it a bug or is this new behaviour as intended? My wish is to bring korganizer up by a click on the reminder daemon. greetings Hans-Peter Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: click on the reminder daemon icon or its context menu Actual Results: korganizer wont be started Expected Results: please, korganizer, please!
I got the same (or extended) problem in KDE 4.5.2: In systray the korganizer (actually the korganizer reminder daemon) appears as an empty icon (so just an empty box / space). Left clicking on this brings up the usual right-click menu with (suspend all reminders, dismiss all reminders, enable reminders, start reminder daemon at login, quit) but does not start korganizer. After clicking "quit" the empty space disappears, if i then restart korgac manually (also with the -icon korgac arg) everything is back to usual: I can see the icon, left click opens korganizer, right click menu is back to right click ;) The problem appeared after upgrading from kubuntu 10.04 (kde 4.4.2) to 10.10. 10.10 by default comes with kde 4.5.1 at the moment. I installed 4.5.2 from the kubuntu ppa trying to solve this, didn't help. Maybe the problem is related to the system tray itself? Could it be that korgac starts up too early or something?
It does work here (Debian Sid KDE SC 4.5.2 & Kubuntu 10.10 KDE SC 4.5.3). When kontact or korganizer is already started a click on the tray icon brings it to top. When it is not already active korganizer is started. Alas it then always starts in todo list mode instead of in kalender view. This happens even when kontact is active in email view, when I click the tray icon of korganizer kontact switches to todo list view, not calendar view.
