Description Christopher Yeleighton 2010-07-05 12:56:49 UTC
Version: 1.12.4 (using KDE 4.3.5)
OS: Linux

When I add a new aspell dictionary using YaST, nothing happens to the KMail editor. The workaround to restart KMail is too troublesome; there should be a button to refresh the dictionary list.
Note that KEdit updates the dictionary list transparently.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new message in KMail.
2. Select the German dictionary.
3. Install the German dictionary.
4. Select the German dictionary.

Actual Results:
2. Nope; the German dictionary is not available.
4. Nope; the German dictionary is not available.

Expected Results:
4.
The German dictionary should be accessible at that point, perhaps after pressing [Refresh].

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.31.12-0.2-desktop
Compiler: gcc

Hi,

kdelibs (version 4 and earlier) is no longer maintained since a few years.

KDE Frameworks 5 or 6 might already have resolved this bug.

If not, please re-open against the matching framework if feasible or against the application that shows the issue.

We then can still dispatch it to the right Bugzilla product or component.

Greetings
