Application: kopete (1.0.0) KDE Platform Version: 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2) Qt Version: 4.6.2 Operating System: Linux 2.6.32-23-generic i686 Distribution: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS -- Information about the crash: I think this might be a Kubuntu-specific bug (don't really know), but every time I open Kopete (all this fine up to this point), the moment I click Settings--> Configure, it crashes. Every single time. I've never encounted a crash this consistant on a stable build of KDE-- it's pretty weird. Maybe it has something to do with HAL? (probably not!) The crash can be reproduced every time. -- Backtrace: Application: Kopete (kopete), signal: Segmentation fault [Current thread is 1 (Thread 0xb7724730 (LWP 9258))] Thread 2 (Thread 0xb4f69b70 (LWP 9259)): #0 0x00982e16 in clock_gettime () from /lib/tls/i686/cmov/librt.so.1 #1 0x075e16fb in qt_gettime () at kernel/qcore_unix.cpp:111 #2 0x075e6825 in QTimerInfoList::updateCurrentTime (this=0x87bbc5c) at kernel/qeventdispatcher_unix.cpp:340 #3 0x075e686a in QTimerInfoList::timerWait (this=0x87bbc5c, tm=...) at kernel/qeventdispatcher_unix.cpp:443 #4 0x075e4818 in timerSourcePrepareHelper (src=<value optimized out>, timeout=0xb4f690ac) at kernel/qeventdispatcher_glib.cpp:136 #5 0x075e48a5 in timerSourcePrepare (source=0x0, timeout=0x986ff4) at kernel/qeventdispatcher_glib.cpp:169 #6 0x07d80aca in g_main_context_prepare () from /lib/libglib-2.0.so.0 #7 0x07d80ee9 in ?? Which video hardware do you have (including TV cards) ?
I have the same crash under FreeBSD. I have a WinTV that I've never really bothered getting working plugged in; it shows up as: none1@pci0:6:1:0: class=0x040000 card=0x80030070 chip=0x00164444 rev=0x01 hdr=0x00 vendor = 'Conexant Inc (Was: Globespan, ICompression Inc)' device = 'iTVC16/CX23416 MPEG Codec' class = multimedia subclass = video I also have a logitech USB quickcam, but this crash happens whether or not that is plugged in.
