Description G Cohen 2010-07-01 13:14:24 UTC
Version: SVN (using Devel)
OS: Linux

I have customers who pay me on a monthly basis for the amount of work I have carried out in that month. My problem with KTimeTracker is that it doesn't allow me to mark tasks as charged and show a total for uncharged tasks. I currently start new files with new tasks after charging the customers which is inconvenient for several reasons:
- No easily accessible history of tasks.
- No ongoing tasks
- Too many files to manage

It would be useful and really nice to have the ability to mark tasks as charged and which and to have a column that shows the total uncharged time. I'm not talking about resetting the timers to 0 since I'd like to be able to track down time spent on a task but only to have a placemark that shows when I charged for the tasks and time spent on the task since the last time I charged for it.

Does it make sense?

Reproducible: Didn't try

Your explanation makes perfect sense.

If this bug gets 50 votes I will implement it.

I feel good that you make money with "my" ktimetracker. Take care when updating to KDE 4.4, times get lost here and I do not have a solution. I really feel ashamed of this.

Regarding your actual bug report here, we will find a solution, I need to hire some student for you. What really drives me is the idea of combining open source and business.

I'm already on 4.5 RC1 and I had no issues with losing times. Although my system is probably a bit different to the usual one, since I use several files -- one for each project I do and each month, which makes it easier for me charging my customers RE my original wish.

Anyway, my pledge for 30 Euros still stands, and if it helps I'm more than happy to help with testing and anything else I can help with.
