I had been trying to run vbeinfo, a program suggested by Grub to determine video capabilities of my computer. Becuse Grub suggested it, it did not occur to me that it might not be installed on my computer--but it wasn't. I conclude that this was its way of trying to alert me to the fact that it wsa indeed missing from my machine. I believe the code could use some improvement there.

N.B.: DrKonqi insists that the backtrace supplied is almost certainly useless. If so, I am certainly open to suggestions of which .dbg packages to install to make it better. Thank you very much!!!

This is an issue in the DBus core technology. It is already fixed in the 1.3.1
version or later. Your distribution should offer that version soon.
