-- Information about the crash:
The most recent updates to the OS crashed the newest (current) version of the Nvidia driver, so I had to re-enable the older Nvidia driver (v.173) which doesn't work very well. Including the occassional KDE desktop crash noted here:
1. Opened NVidia X manager
2. Scanned for connected devices
3. Enabled external monitor (720p HD TV attached via VGA)
4. Disabled laptop monitor
5. Clicked disable in the warning pop-up window
6. Clicked "Apply" to make previous changes effective
7. Crash reporting window popped up.... (didn't actually see anything crash)

The crash can be reproduced some of the time.
