Version: unspecified (using Devel) OS: Linux I've got a problem when I'm copying files between 2 partitions on same hdd:the cpu usage is always at 100% (dual core 2.53 ghz and 4 gb ram) and transfer decreases desktop responsiveness. NOTE: i have this problem with all version of kde. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: copy files with dolphin
Hi there, I can't reproduce here, (svn r1157874 (KDE 4.5.62 (KDE 4.6 >= 20100729))) but marked this bug as "Bugs needing attention" so dolphin developers can double check it.
Thanks for the report, but I cannot reproduce this issue here too (4.5.2 + trunk). If I remember correctly some time ago there was an issue in Plasma, where showing the progress resulted in a high CPU load. Maybe you could try to turn off the plasma-progress indicator temporary...
It probably is a Linux kernel problem, see http://www.google.com/search?q=linux+bug+high+io+wait+time
(In reply to comment #3) > It probably is a Linux kernel problem, see > http://www.google.com/search?q=linux+bug+high+io+wait+time i don't have this bug with gnome
i have this bug with kubuntu 11.06 (kde 4.6.0) using cp, all works fine with low cpu usage but with dolphin, i have 100% cpu (dual core).
