Description Daniele Calisi 2010-06-29 23:06:07 UTC
Version: 1.2.0 (using KDE 4.4.2)
OS: Linux

I added a NFS4 network location to my local library, digikam starts reading files, then stops. If run in a console, it says that it cannot read some (most of) directories. At that time, trying to read those directory with ls shows a "stale NFS file handle" error.

If I unmount and remount the NFS filesystem, ls can read everything, Dolphin can browse all directories, even with previews. It seems that some specific digikam behavior causes NFS to stall.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
This happens to my configuration, I do not know if it is a general issue. However, I just mount the NFS4 partition, that is a directory full of subdirectories that are full of images. Everything is fine (Dolphin can browse, ls can read directories, etc.), but when I try to add that network location to my local digikam library, after some time it happens what I described above.

Actual Results:
Only a few of the directories in the NFS filesystem appear in the local library.

Expected Results:
Every directory should appear in the local library.

I use NFS4 at home to share collections between my laptop and my desktop. I cannot reproduce this problem...

Marcel, i set this entry to DB, but i'm not sure if the problem come from there...
