Description Ferdinand Gassauer 2001-04-17 14:11:42 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package:           khtml
Version:           3.0 (using KDE 2.2.0 \6alpha1)
Severity:          normal
Installed from:    compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.2 19991024 (release)
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.2.18
OS/Compiler notes:

Hi!
only the upper half (or so) of the last line is printed. the next page reprints some lines (about 2 1/2).

I use CUPS 1.1.6-13 from SuSE and the laserjet 4 Plus foomatic ljet 4 driver.

The left border is too wide.

Is ther a place to set up html printing?

That's a feature. We can't guarantee to break between lines so we print with
a little bit of overlap to ensure that you have all lines at least once in a
readbale fashion.

Maybe we should handle it a bit differently and surpress the printing of a
line if it is about to be cut in half yet making sure that we print each line
at least once.

Cheers
Waldo

Hard to believe !
BTW I discovered also pages which startet with cut in half lines.
I'd prefer to waste a little bit of paper ending the page 1 line earlier then
having 1-2 lines printed twice. for personale use it's ok but for handing
out papers to other ???. has to be explained. "software problems.." I don't
like that.

During printing html pages I see cutted on half lines both on=20
top and bottom of page.
I try to print into ps file to exclude printer's margins.=20
Cutting effect presents.

Hi!
The print preview of
http://developer.kde.org/development-versions/kde-3.1-features.html
shows some cut /split lines on the last pages.

BTW
Are you going to implement header/footers (URL Date Page Number) which a=
re=20
necessary for state of the art printing

With or without todays changes to khtml?

I only see that the bullets are postioned a bit unfortunate.

Comment 8 Ferdinand Gassauer 2002-05-30 08:06:15 UTC
Hi!
Thanks for adding the header with date (no time?) URL and page Number.

1) try printing (preview) http://www.goesing.at/haus.htm - the images of pa=
ge=20
2 extend into the header.

2) html printing still uses the configured "standard background" color. Thi=
s=20
was configurable "printer friendly ..." but not working a while ago. I=20
can't find this option any more. IMHO it's wasting ink...

In 3.1Beta2 konqi is still useless to print html pages!
