Description Ludwig Reiter 2010-06-24 14:42:48 UTC
Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS: Linux

I sent three mails from test account A to B.
Only the third mail was displayed in B. Why not mail 1 and 2?

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1. A sends three test mails to B.
2. B looks at his inbox.

Actual Results:
Only the thir mail is displayed.

Expected Results:
All three mails are displayed.

A's sent-mail folder contains all three mails. Sending worked without error message.

Are both A and B using kdepimlibs/kdepim trunk?
Comment 2 Ludwig Reiter 2010-06-29 13:37:16 UTC
A and B used Kontact enterprise5 20100618.1140682-kk3.1140736

Ludwig, can you restest with a new tag, please.
Comment 4 Ludwig Reiter 2010-08-12 10:15:00 UTC
tested with Kontact e5 4.5~e5.20100805.1159887-kk26.1162041

The three mails are displayed.
If I selecct a mail a flag conflict dialog appears. So not completely solved.

The flag conflict problem has been solved in revision 1164594.
Comment 6 Bernhard E. Reiter 2010-08-25 12:31:57 UTC
I am unsure if this is fully resolved, though.

Architecture: i386
Source: kdepim
Version: 4:4.5~e5.20100820.1165966-kk1.1167412

(Upgraded configuration and cache.)
I've synced today to a folder that had two new emails for this client.
The folder had been synced with the n900 before.

I could not see the two new emails in my kontact.
Akonadiconsole showed me, that they were there, but kontact did not display
them. The only difference to the other emails in the folder was that they "new" emails had the "\SEEN" flags and the other had a flag called "Old".
I somehow resolved the situation by removing the "Old" flag in Akonadiconsole Browser, Internals for one email.

Now new emails are being displayed again when they come in fresh.

So there is still a trigger to show this problem
and there is a situtation where the client is stuck (at least for one folder).

Please test again with revision >= 1168838, several fixes for hanging IMAP syncs have been committed.
Comment 8 Salvatore Brigaglia 2010-11-05 11:35:08 UTC
This is not fixed ATM because i can experience bad sync between imap folders and client:

Since i decided to try kmail 2.0 (beta1) to help debug i configured an ipod touch for emails as a backup. Sometimes kmail warns me about new email before the iPod and that's fine. But when the opposite happens, and i read the email from the ipod, this email never arrives into kmail inbox folder. No matter if i shut down and reopen kmail or how many times i try to sync the folder both with ricght click on the folder or via "check mail" button.
