Description Christopher Yeleighton 2010-06-23 12:26:40 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.3.5)
OS: Linux

The Low Disk Space notification window contains a button to open File Manager. However, the File Manager it opens is not useful in solving the problem of low disk space.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Fill up $HOME so that there is less than 200_MB free on /home.
2. Press the button "Open File Manager".

Actual Results:
1. KDE Daemon Low Disk Space Notification appears.
2. Dolphin displays $HOME.

Expected Results:
2. Disk cleanup manager, or Konqueror should display /home in FSView.

The notification only offers to open / in your file manager as a fallback if Filelight isn't installed. If Filelight is installed, it'll offer to launch it, which is much more useful. Not much we can do here; if you didn't already have Filelight installed, you certainly can't install it now because you're out of space!

I have Konqueror installed, my distribution does not bundle FileLight. The notification does not open Konqueror in FSView mode, which would make a lot of sense.
