Created attachment 48181 [details] screenshot showing the "alphabetically sorted" date list Version: 1.13.3 (using KDE 4.4.4) OS: Linux In the mail search window you can sort the result list by date. Unfortunately, it does not sort by date but by alphabetically comparing the date strings, which is not "by date". Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Use the mail search window. Try to sort the results list by date. Notice that instead of sorting by date it sorts by alphabetically comparing the date strings. Actual Results: The results list was sorted by alphabetically comparing the date strings. Expected Results: I expected the results list to be sorted by date.
I can confirm this. The list looks like this: Yesterday 1.1.2009 1.1.2010 2.1.2009 2.1.2010 ... I'm using kdepim 4.4.4 on Fedora 13.
same on opensuse 11.3 kde 4-5-1
Same problem in Kmail 1.13.5 on KDE 4.5.4 on Kubuntu 10.10. When I click on the date list header in the search dialog, messages get sorted in the wrong way--it seems that dates are sorted alphabetically. Please, fix this.
Same Problem in Kmail 1.13.5 in KDE 4.5.4 (Archlinux)
I also have this problem and it is kde 4.4.4 on suse 11.3
fixed yesterday
I just tested with KDE-4.6 on Kubuntu-10.10 and the issue is *NOT* fixed. Does that mean that the fix did not work or that the fix will reach us in a later release? Reopening until some response...
kdepim-4.4.10 was not release. So use kdepim-4.4.10 when release. I close untils you test with correct package and reopen if you think that it's not fixed
Thank you for the additional info. "Fixed yesterday" was just too unclear for me. Might be a good idea to state a version that includes the fix when resoving bugs. Doesn't bugzilla support something like this?
